Kars is located in a geography where many civilizations lived in the past due to its location. This geography is a place where there are economic interaction as well as cultural. Geographical features have been an effective factor in concentrating the livelihood of the people on agriculture and animal husbandry in economic terms. This factor brought about important initiatives related to animal husbandry in the region. During the Republican period, animal husbandry was not done with modern methods. We see that the newly established state has also important initiatives in the field of animal husbandry as in every field. For this purpose, it is one of the important steps taken in the field of animal husbandry to carry out important works such as coweries, breeding farms, artificial insemination stations. As a result of the studies, we clearly see the positive effects of these institutions both in the domestic market and in foreign trade. These scheduled studies increased Kars's commercial potential with its neighbor, the Soviet Russian government. The export of animals and the continuation of the agreements between the two countries shows that Kars has come a considerable distance in its animal husbandry activities. The improvement of animal husbandry activities with the awareness, of the public has also helped the people to relax economically. In later periods, we see that industrial activities are carried out in proportion to animal husbandry. The factories opened were effective in the production of animal products and the region was examined by foreign experts. Another economic benefit is that factories create jobs for the local people. In the future, we see that some of these factories were closed. The fact that there are important problems related to animal diseases in animal husbandry once again demonstrated the importance of veterinary medicine services in the region.
