Intellectual products have always been very important in every period of history. The art and the artists had rised the comfort of the society and in return, the society not only conceded privileges to the artists of the intellectuel products but also gave protection to them by the law. The products that have been created by the effort of a person, are considered as a property of the creator and as a result of this, these products started to be protected by the intellectual property rights. Many difficulties were encountered in protecting each intellectual product by the law, so like in any other state laws, Turkish law specified the intellectual products that could be protected and called them ?work?. By this law, the owners of the work and the material, together with the moral rights of the owner were explained. The restrictions to these rights and legal ways that could be applied in case of a violation of the rights had been also decribed in law. The purpose of intellectual property law is to protect the owner of the work, support the owner about creating future work and give them labor by recognizing them some material and moral rights. In connection with the main purpose of a constitutional state, in order to protect the works of the owner, there are material and moral rights. In spite of the enforcements, the moral rights are serving the same purpose. It maintains the bond between the owner and the work, makes owner to feel safe about his work and encourages the owner about creating future work. The owner of the work prevents his work from alteration and modification by introducing his work to the public himself. In this way, owner prevents his work to become independent by the legal ways. Altough the owner of the work provides financial gain by publishing, reproduction etc., it?s not enough for the owner if his work becomes independent from himself. It?s the most important issue about protecting the intellectual product as a work and moral rights are providing the chacteristic features of the owner about the work. In this regard, more attention and protection should be given to the owner by moral rights.

Fikri ürünler tarihin her döneminde önem arz etmiştir.
