With the invention of photography, there have been various discussions on the impact it will have on the field of art. It was originally thought that photography might be an auxiliary element for painting. The competence of photography to copy reality has brought about discussions of what art is. The subsequent development and diffusion of photography in the technical sense enabled him to gain a more solid place within the field of art and became one of the means of conveying emotion and thought. This has redefined the place of photography in the art space. The term Photo-Realism was first used by Louis K. Meisel. In 1968, Chuck Close's black-and-white portraits and Richard Estes' paintings were similar in both appearance and method, indicating that similar works were called photo-realism. The paintings made with the understanding to copy the photographic effect defined under the term-photo-realism, were introduced by Meisel in 1970 with an exhibition of 22 artists. However, it would be wrong to evaluate the paintings of some artists such as Chuck Close and Denis Peterson in the photorealism movement both in terms of method and content. The fact that the paintings are produced through photography in both movements and that they took part in some of the artists who produce hyper-realistic works in the first exhibition held in 1970 made the distinction of photorealism and hyper-realism unclear. The notion of hyperrealism, which the French declining Baudrillard put forward, is the simulation and simulacrum and hyperrealism that he emphasizes in his book Simulation and Simulacration. Baudrillard's expression is no longer represented because the models of the real replace the real. The fact that its expression can now be reproduced in an infinite number makes it truly real. In contrast to copying, photorealistic artists imitate photographic reality, and hyperealistic art is based on reconstructing reality. From this point of view, it would be correct to base the hyperrealistic art on Baudrillard's theory of hyperrealism. In Chapter 4, the similar and separated aspects of the Photorealistic and Hyporealistic movements are illustrated both by the text and the works of the artists involved in these two movements. Finally, in the applications section, how the conceptual processes of the works produced from the photographic image transform and the technical and discursive analysis of the paintings are given.
