In most of the greenhouses in the Mediterranean region, where greenhouse cultivation is intense in our country, most of the greenhouses are not heated. For extreme frosty days, simple heating is provided only for frost protection. Greenhouse heating systems have high fixed investment costs. However, it is possible to generate more income with the quantity and quality of production from the heating greenhouses. However, fluctuations in product prices and uncertainties prevent producers from investing in such investments. In the calculation of the heating load in greenhouses, regional long-term climate data, type and nature of greenhouse covering material, heat curtain type, heat curtain type, heating system, greenhouse sealing condition, plant species to be grown, solar radiation, wind, lighting etc. Many different parameters such as play important role. At the same time, the heating load to be calculated is a basic criterion for determining the heating power of the system to be projected. Therefore, full and accurate calculations are important in terms of investment cost and efficiency of the system. With this study, heating load which is the basis for heating system projects according to different greenhouse types and heat saving measures for Malatya province has been determined by ISIGER-SERA expert system software. The determined heating load is compared with the greenhouses in other provinces where greenhouse cultivation is carried out and the potential of Malatya in greenhouse cultivation has been evaluated. In addition, the results obtained from the province of Malatya for the most appropriate type of greenhouse type and heats saving measures were discussed.Key words: Greenhouses, Heating in Greenhouses, HeatSaving, ExpertSystem.
