If explored as a concept in history, game is a highly attractive subject due to its position and importance in human life. Origins of game is older than the existence of humankind. The first chapter of this study focuses on the notion of game in human history. Game, defined mostly as an activity of children in our present day, is substantially functional in terms of the physical and mental progress of a person in adulthood. Concept of game contains amusement and is realized as a volunteer act, also is entomologically based on competition. In the competition of life through the history, the demonstrated behavior and constructed systems of humans by imitating the nature and their environment in order to survive and discover the meaning of life, creates the foundation of culture and refers directly to the playful character of human. We are witnessing that the human's potential of inventing games becomes idle in relation to the forced obligation to play the games which are imposed on them, under the pressure of the sovereignty of the capitalist system today. Whereas the innovative approaches in fundamental areas which drives the progress of societies, such as science, technology and art, emerge from the creations formed by human's motive of playing and sense of wonder. In this work, the relationship between the technology and art is addressed in the context of game. When we study the art forms appeared through the industrial revolution, the relation between game, science and technology can be evidently observed in kinetic art. In this study examples of kinetic sculpture in the 20th and 21st century examined in the context of game.
