The identity consists of the differences in itself and the structure of `we` and `other` which these differences make up. The `we` structure is the result of the individual entering into a community, integrating himself / herself into this community by nurturing a sense of belonging to this community. The formation of `we` will naturally reveal the formation of the `other`. Identity is what distinguishes communities from one another and makes them different from others. These different communities and the `we` and `other` structures they have in themselves have always been found in the historical process. The formation of identity has gained a formal dimension through the emergence of nation-states and has led to the destruction of the empires, which have many different communities in their own right, with the purpose of world domination. The Ottoman State was the closest country to Europe, where the emergence of identity emerged as the earliest affected state. The press, which is spreading rapidly in the world during this period, also took place in the Ottoman State and created a new resource in terms of this State. Abdülhamit II period The Ottoman State is a state in search of identity. The aim of this work, the four newspapers (Tercuman-i Hakikat, Tarik, Saâdet and Ma'lûmât) selected from the Abdülhamit II period are examined in terms of their identity to reveal the `other` they hold. In this context, the press has been evaluated by content analysis of the Tercüman-ı Hakikat, Tarik, Saâdet and Ma'lûmât newspapers, which are known to be close to governance. For this reason, firstly, the content analyzed in the newspapers was evaluated from the point of view of the news, the style and the subject that was processed in the newspapers, and the structure of `us` which was held in the press was revealed and the view of `the other` was evaluated from these angles.
