In different regions of Anatolia, Turkish art has shown a variety of developments. These developments have affected not only the general structure of religious and civil architecture but also the decorative forms.A wide range of materials have been processed for the mihrabs and minbars of the Anatolian religious architectures through different techniques. Tiles, plaster, stones, and wood have been used in a highly artistic way. Tiles, plaster, and stones on the mihrab as well as the wood on the mimbar of the mosque in Elmali are decorated with the geometrical and floral compositions and enriched with calligraphy writing.Appropriate techniques have been preferred for the material used in woodworking and, in general, such trees as pear, apple, walnut, cedar, ebony, roses, boxwood and pine have been used. In the study, themes and techniques used in the materials were observed to vary.As regards the study, literature sources were primarily researched, and the examples used in the study were examined in a detailed manner in terms of their techniques, themes, color, and compositions, and then drawing and photography were done.Based on the decoration of the mihrab and minbar of Elmali Omer Pasha Mosque which reflects the culture and art of 16th and 17th-century Ottoman period, it was concluded that more detailed and scientific studies should be done with regard these topics. The fact that such works of art which express the characteristics of a period are open to the public as well as unconscious restoration damages and cause them to perish. The staff of the mosques should be told about the importance of the mosques as well as the works of art they contain and how to protect them. Also, it is possible to publicize them through small ornaments using the motifs in the works of art.It is hoped that this study which aims to promote Turkish decorative arts and examine them through drawings as well as photographs will be a helpful source for the further studies in this field.Key words: Antalya Elmali Omer Pasha Mosque, Madrasah, Classical Turkish Period.
