Chronic hip pain is a frequent complaint in sports and in some cases there is no clinical, laboratory or radiological findings. Tinea pedis and Tinea infugu (onychomycosis) infections, which are common fungal infections in sports, may become chronic and may cause acsending lymphangitis. This can be the cause of hip and groin pain. The aim of the study is to investigate the role of fungal infections in the groin injuries that occur in the exercise. For this purpose, 183 athletes participated voluntarily and cross-sectional study method was used in the form of question and answer. Chi-square test was used for statistical analysis of categorical data and Fisher's Excat test was used when the number of small observations from 5 was over 20 per cent. Descriptive variables for continuous variables are expressed as mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum values. In all analyzes, significance level was accepted as 0.05.37.4 percent of the athletes complained of groin pain and 24,0 percent of them were diagnosed with the cause of groin pain. 13 percent of athletes have no reason to have groin pain. In our study, was detected in 11.6 percent of the athletes tinea pedis and in 4.4 percent tinea ungium. There was a statistically significant weak correlation (p = 0.008) between the condition of treating the fungal infection and the condition of the hip joint. However, this statistical comment could change the results of the re-evaluation study by increasing the number of individuals participating in the study. We think it is appropriate to conduct a more detailed prospective study of the role of fungal infections in inguinal and hip pain. In this controlled prospective study, it is suggested to perform more detailed analyzes including the parameter of whether or not the complaints of groin and hip pain are decreased after fungal treatment.
