ABSTRACTZeynep DEDEThe Integration of Production and Market Strategies and An ExperimentModernization process and changes and developments in informationtechnologies affect market dynamics and production strategies of firms closely.Recently, the concept of customer has been the focus point of production systems andneeds and requests of customers have been forming the products and/or services. As aresult, this development has caused harmonisation of market and production strategies.Under market conditions with high level of competition and uncertainty, firms eitherselect ?mass production? and produce ?standart? products focusing on ?cost? item oradopt ?differentiation? principle and keep ?expenditure? notion in the background whilefollowing continuosly innovation and technology. Due to different objectives, each ofthese strategies at the same time requires different production strategies. Consequently, this paper analyses integration process of market and production strategies. At the firstchapter theoritical framework about market, product and production strategies has beendrawn and integration process has been evaluated under the scope of technology, standardization, price, quality, design and also cost, flexibility, organizational structure, logistics and human resources criteria. At the application chapter of thesis, customer-supplier relationship between Meteksan Information Group and Ministry of Finance hasbeen tried to explain as case study. Ministry of Finance has been assumed customer, while Meteksan has been considered as producer. With the help of ?say2000i project?, acustomer-focused system has been studied. Technological architecture, production -software-hardware infrastructure and integration ability of the project have beenevaluated. At the conclusion chapter, success of the project and superior/weak sides ofthe project have been inquired under the light of theoritical information.
