There is no need to follow the rules of traditional art conventions in order to shape the works of art, today. Artists create their own style, materials and techniques, impose their own artistic rules and personal attitudes in the process of creation. These attitudes are shaped by artistic creativity on the basis of the artist's talent, skills, lifestyle and tendencies.Liberated personal tendencies can be observed in all artistic disciplines in terms of content and form. Similarly, the art of photography, since its invention until today, has undergone changes as a result of technological, socio-political and artistic developments. Photography, that has reached all corners of the world and become a means of production for the masses on a global scale, has begun its own search for a new language and style and gone beyond the traditional rules of its own world following more personalised discourses and methods. The 'photographic moment' has moved from a limited temporal space to a more extended creative timeframe in which artrists could shape the form of photographic objects and bring them to life. While moving away from the camera to a certain or full extent, new photographic products now come out thanks to media, internet and other technologies. Another way of expression we come across in the process of photographic creation is the shaping of the artwork by hand. The preference for the manual formation of the artwork can be explained as the artist's desire to physically become part of the artistic product. With the presence of the artist in the artwork, comes in the concept of 'handmade photography'. Handmade photography uses many different sources of inspiration from traditional tools to various technological gadgets, as well as ordinary everyday objects. With the introduction of the concept of 'handmade photography', the art of photography has gone through a process of enrichment in terms of interpretation based on interdisciplinary contact and self-expression and it has become a significant turning point in the history of photography. The artist's handprints observable in the artwork produced have become an area of study in itself. That's why we can talk about 'handmade photography' as a significant liberating force in the art of photographic production. Keywords: Handmade Photography, Creative Process, Self-expression, Materials.
