Özet

The microhabitat use and how the dam effect on microhabitat use of relatively abundant fish species, Squalius cii and Cobitis fahirae were in the four streams in two different seasons in Biga Peninsula were investigated. It is thought that, if any dam was not constructed, parameters that can have an effect on the microhabitat use in upper and lower places of dams on the stream would be similar. Regardless, as dams change to microhabitat use, microhabitat use will differ for same fishes into upper and lower places of dams on the stream. The sampling was done in upper and lower places of dams in Ayvacık, Bayramiç, Atikhisar and Bakacak Dams in two seasons. The data of 33 biological, chemical and physical parameters from microhabitats favoured by fishes was recorded. The distribution of two dominant fish species in these microhabitats were analyzed according to these parameters. MDS analyses were used to determine the parameters of relation between the fish species. It was determined that the most important parameters effecting microhabitat use of S. cii and C. fahirae is distance to pool in both seasons. While the significance of the microhabitat use of S. cii and C. fahirae alters in accordance with season, station and even species of fish, it was determined that the parameters such as the depth, distance to the run and to the riffle, the percentage of rubbish and pollution have a significant role on the microhabitat uses of S. cii and C. fahirae. Keywords: Squalius cii, Cobitis fahirae, Microhabitat, Dam, Stream, Biga Peninsula, Çanakkale.
