Ara Nesil (the Intermediate Generation) is a group of poets and writers in the Turkish literature between the Tanzimat Period and Servet-i Fünûn. It was Mehmet Kaplan that drew attention to this period for the first time. Although they could not create a school or a society, the most important function of this period in our literature is that it prepared the ground for Servet-i Fünûn. They published their works between 1880 and 1896. The members of this generation had a chance to study in those reformed schools of the Tanzimat Period, learned foreign languages and so translated some works. Their works were important for the spread of western literature; however, they never abandoned the classical style they belonged. During this period, the number of the newspapers and magazines increased, which led to the growth of many poets and writers.Ferâizcizâde Osman Fâiz is a writer and poet whose first poems and short stories were published on newspapers and journals during Ara Nesil Period. Later, one of his books was printed and after the Second Constitutional Monarchy Period of Ottomans, he started his translations. Most of Osman Fâiz's works are poems. It was found that there are poems even in his stories. He translated detective novels from English to Ottoman Turkish. In this study, it is aimed to reveal Osman Fâiz's works, which have never been researched as a single study like other writers of Ara Nesil Period, with a collective view.

Osman Fâiz'in edebî ürünlerinin büyük çoğunluğunu manzumeler oluşturur. Nesir türünde de eser vermiştir ancak düz yazıların içinde bile yer yer manzum parçalara rastlanır. Sonraları polisiye roman türünde tercüme faaliyetleri içine girmiştir. Bu çalışmada edebiyatımızda belli bir dönemi kapsayan Ara Nesil'in diğer mensupları gibi üzerinde müstakil bir çalışma yapılmamış Osman Fâiz'in eserlerine toplu bir bakış ortaya koymaya çalışıldı.
