In this study, the labour organizations in the field of cinema in Turkey, which are widely ignored in previous researches on unions in Turkey, are examined within the scope of the Union of Cinema Workers (Sine-Sen). It is also aimed to discuss the successes and failures of the union together with their social, political and cultural reasons and to offer a solution proposal. By examining how the Union of Cinema Workers (Sine-Sen) is affected by social, political and economic factors, an answer is searched to find out why its achievements are actually far behind the target. When the history of labour relations in Turkey is examined, it can be seen that the problems relating to the issues that directly affect the working life; such as low wages, precarious employment, lack of job security measures and the restriction of union rights, exist in many sectors. There is no doubt that the main reason is the size of the sectors and correspondingly number of employees and also the size of the risk that the sector carries. This situation is also reflected in the studies related to the field. In this context, cinema is one of the sectors that are ignored. The magical world created by cinema has caused the troubles of the production process to remain behind the scene. Beyond the meanings and symbols which cinema creates, it is a sector that carries similar labour risks to other sectors. This study aims to identify the organizational problems in the field of cinema along with political, legal and economic reasons. In addition, by taking into consideration of the social and cultural structures, this study aims to propose solutions by examining the forms that identified problems take in practice through the union.
