The real movement concept is seen in the sculpture art in the twentieth century. Generally the movement means changing the situation and the place of an object. Physically the movement concept is identified by Einstein in the scientific aspect at the beginning of the twentieth century. In this scientific analysis, the movement is identified as integral with the space, time and object of which are the determining factors for themselves. The mobile sculpture is first seen in the age of modernism. Nonetheless the mobile works are found in the past until the period of Egypt and Ancient Greece civilizations. In this context, the automats are the major examples. Modernism represents the artistic approach of the modern society constituted when the Age of Enlightenment and Industrial Evolution changed the sociological structure. Also the technological developments during the modernization process are the factors determining the mobile art production. The Constructivism and the Dadaism ? among the artistic approaches at the beginning of the twentieth century ? are the leading approaches in which the real movement is first used in the sculpture art. The movement ? which is first used by Duchamp ? then has become a material of the sculpture art with the contributions of Tatlin and successive constructivists. After a while it is stopped to create these first term works and then in the sixties it is restarted to create them and thus acquired a significant artistic production form of the sculpture art in the twentieth century.According to the studies the mobile sculpture is composed by two main topics. These topics are determined as predictable and unpredictable movement categories in compliance with the movement and the energy of the work. The predictable mobile works produce mechanically programmed movements and need regular energy. On the other hand the unpredictable mobile works get energy in the nature and also identified as mobile works.
