Our thesis with the argument ?the place of Mizanü?l Edeb in the tradition of literature theory in the Turkish Literature history? is classified in three sections after foreword. In the foreword we told why we chose this argument and to which points we paid attention in the pipeline. In the introduction we gave information about the historical development of the tradition of the literature theory in the Turkish Literature history. We mentioned about the studies related to our argument. At the first chapter of our thesis we gave information about the life and works of the author, Diyarbakırlı Said Pasha, whose work we analyzed. At the second chapter we gave information about when and how the studies on theories started in the Turkish Literature. We based on the old and new period of the Turkish Literature while we were explaining these topics. Studies on theories in the Turkish literature were formed by taking examples from Arabic and Persian works. These works were taught at Medressahs by the scholars of the period. This situation changed with the effect of the western literature after the second half of the 19th century. Henceforth the studies on theories in our literature were started to be formed by taking examples from Turkish literary works. The work of Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem with the name of Talim-i Edebiyat was written in this style and was accepted as a turning point in our literature. After the Talim-i Edebiyat a lot of works were written in this style. Another continuation of this style is the work of Said Pasha with the name of Mizanü?l Edeb. We pointed out that Mizanü?l Edeb is a rhetoric work formed by taking examples from Turkish texts. With these qualifications, Mizanü?l Edeb is a work which is trying to create the theory of Turkish literature. At the third chapter we analyzed Mizanü?l Edeb as a separate heading. While we were analyzing this work we stuck by the classification of the work made by the author. We analyzed the work with descriptive method. At the end of the third chapter, in the epilogue we tried to determine the place and the significance of the Mizanü?l Edeb in the tradition of literature theory in the Turkish literature history. In the continuation of the third chapter we gave the original text of the Mizanü?l Edeb which we translated in contemporary alphabet. At the end of our thesis we showed the source books we used under the heading of bibliography.Key words:RhetoricDiyarbakırlı Said PaşaMîzânü?l-EdebTheory of literatureEsthetic.

Üçüncü bölümün devamında ise Mîzânü'l-Edeb'in günümüz alfabesine aktardığımız orijinal metnini verdik. Tezimizin sonunda kaynakça başlığı adı altında yaralandığımız kaynakları gösterdik.Anahtar Kelimeler:BelâgatDiyarbakırlı Said PaşaMîzânü'l-EdebEdebiyat TeorisiBediiyat.
