Traffic accidents that occur in winter as a result of icing cause injuries and death with great suffering and economic loses. In this study, anti icing automatic spray system has been designed and implemented for reducing these losses. Because the system will work in harsh weather conditions, control process is done with industrial computer. The data from the weather and road sensors is transferred to the system with RS-485 serial communication protocol. In the system room, there are three tanks including water, solution, mixture and a pump which pumps the liquid in these tanks with constant pressure to the pump line laid parallel to the road. In which order the liquid will be sprayed to the nozzle in the middle of the road which is connected to the pump line is determined automatically. As soon as the industrial computer receives weather and road conditions and detects that icing will occur, it provides spraying solutions on the road by sending data firstly to the control card and then to the addressing card where nozzles are connected. The system is designed to be automatically controlled and run manually when needed. This study reduces the dependence on foreign for our country and serial production of the system will be able to realise if it is accepted for using governmental agencies. It can be converted to a production which can be exported as making necessary certifications in domestic and abroad.
