This quasi-experimental study was aimed to investigate the effect of IMB based sexual counselling on woman's sexual health by considering the factors affecting woman's sexual function and its quality. The sample included 105 primipara women who have given birth in the obstetrics clinic of a public hospital between February 2015 and February 2016. The data collected by a socio-demographic questionnaire prepared by the researcher, Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Edinburg Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS), Body Cathexis Scale (BCS). After the sample were randomized into intervention and control groups; IMB based postpartum sexual counselling were given to the women in the intervention group in the 1st month after delivery. All women were seen in postpartum 2nd and 4th months for evaluation. The statistical analysis was done by descriptive statistics, One Way ANOVA, Tukey HSD test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Fisher Exact test, Pearson Chi-Square test, Levene test, student t-test and Pearson Correlation analysis. It was found that according to the repeated measures done in postpartum 2nd and 4th months; in the intervention group FSFI total score and sexual satisfaction scores were found higher than the control group. In the postpartum 4th month, EPDS scores were found lower in the intervention group when compared to the control group. In the intervention group, BCS scores were found lower than control group in the postpartum 2nd and 4th months. Consequently, it was found that in the intervention group; postpartum sexual functions were negatively affected by depression, negative body image, vaginal delivery, dyspareunia, the start of the menstrual cycle, and time to start sexual intercourse after delivery. Therefore, it is important that nurses and midwifes consider the subjects regarding sexual health in the education and counselling programs given to postpartum women.

Çalışma doğum sonrası dönemdeki kadının cinsel işlevlerini ve bunun niteliğini etkileyen faktörleri dikkate alarak bireye özgü IMB model temelli cinsel danışmanlık hizmetinin kadının cinsel sağlığına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yarı deneysel olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, bir devlet hastanesinin Kadın-Doğum kliniğinde Şubat 2015-Şubat 2016 tarihleri arasında doğum yapmış, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 105 primipar kadın oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan veri toplama formu, Kadın Cinsel Fonksiyon Sorgulama İndeksi (IFSF), Edinburgh Postpartum Depresyon Ölçeği (EPDS), Vücut Algısı Ölçeği (VAÖ-BCS) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada katılımcılar, deney ve kontrol grubuna randomize edildikten sonra postpartum 1. ayda deney grubuna 'IMB Model Temelli Postpartum Cinsel Danışmanlık' verilmiş, postpartum 2. ay ve 4. ayda her iki gruptaki lohusalardan veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde ortalama, tek yönlü varyans analizi, Tukey HSD testi, Kruskal Wallis testi, Fisher Exact test, Pearson Chi-Square testi, Levene testi, Student t testi ve Pearson Korrelation analizi kullanılmıştır.
