The new neoliberal enclosure movement - whose striking results can be observed mainly in the 2000s in Turkey - and the transformation movements in the face of Istanbul as a result of the globalization politics are putting a strain on urban common spaces. The neoliberal expansionist movement under the supervision of the government, constitute an attack against urban common space through redesigning public spaces to change their value and abstract representations. This situation exacerbates the urban common struggles to occupy, recapture and re-appropriate the living space. This mutual antagonism which develops between the power holders, who design the space and the political activists in the space of resistance also leads to the creation of a third platform. The new relationships, spatial usages, practice and social bonds which are created within this third platform represent the reproduction of space. Shared experience that is formed in the context of the struggle and the politicization of relationships also create the potential for envisaging another space and the creation of alternative social relationships. It is possible to examine within this framework the transformation attempts from the 1990s based on exchange values on Haydarpasa Train Station, which is one of the common spaces of everyday life and which establishes the right to the city. As a result of this research, The Haydarpasa Solidarity which was founded to fight against the comprehensive attacks of neoliberal transformation, differs from the other urban social movements in Istanbul in the sense that it created the possibility bringing the urban and labor movements together. The Haydarpasa movement, with its nature that brings alternative and traditional kinds of protests, has created different ways to appropriate space by also creating new relationships with a permanent presence, spatial usages and representatives. Haydarpasa Train Station, which is still kept alive through the presence of the resistance movement even though it was closed in 2013, has gained meaning as a common space for which the activists have developed strong feelings of belonging and guardianship. The Haydarpasa Solidarity is such as to bring inspiration to urban social movements with its strong nature synthesized with labor struggle.Key Words: Urban Social Movements, Common Space Struggle, Collective Memory, Henri Lefebvre, Haydarpasa Train Station.
