In our study, we've tried to find out about if in- service training activities are effective in avoiding occupational accidents. For this purpose, Our study Consists of general knowledge and research. While going over general knowledge, we studied the definition, reasons, classification, results of occupational accidents and how to prevent from them; in addition to this, we also studied the importance, kinds, specialties and advantages of in-service training an the basic proses in in-service training. And while making-carrying out studying the research, we applied a questionnaire to the workers who worked for government or private sector producing metallic goods in Ankara. We evaluated the data we obtained from the questionaire in the form of tables. We used computers while evaluating the data. The results we obtained are explained in the section of findings. Finally, in the section of discussion and result, we put in our suggestions about how to solve the problems. The results of research are as in the following: The great majority of the workers (75.4%) agree with in-service training. The ones who disagree with in-service training are not many in number (24.6%). When we checked the accident rate of those people, we found out that the ones who agree with in-service training had exposed to more accidents.-138- Although there is a yearly increase in the number of trained workers from year to year, and as the occupational accidents don't show any sign of decrease, we are faced by the result that in-service training activities are not effective enough in avoiding the occupational accidents. To see how effective in-service training would really be, we must apply this in one or two places as samples. According to this; in-service training activities of an institution a place where some scientific research was made both at the beginning and at the end of the study and of which in-service training problems were solved, will be organized by the government or private sector. In the meantime, statistics of occupational accidents will be noted regularly and the result will be evaluated according to. this.

Çalışmada `işyerlerinde uygulanan HIE faaliyetlerinin is kazalarım önlemede etkili olup-olmadığı ` değerlendiril meye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışma, genel bilgiler ve araştırma bölümlerinden meydana gelmektedir. Genel Bilgiler bölümünde sırayla, is kazalarının tanımı, nedenleri, sınıflandırılması, sonuçları ve önleme yöntemleri, HlE'nin önemi, çeşitleri, özellikleri, yararları, HlE'deki temel süreçlerle ilgili konular incelenmiştir. Çalışanların önemli bir kısmı (%75.4) HlE'me katılmışlardır. Katılmayanlar 24.6 oranındadır. HlE'me katılan ve katılmayanların kaza yüzdeleri incelendiğinde; - HlE'me katılanların kaza yüzdesi yüksek (%26) bulunmuştur. Katılmayanlarda (%17.3).136- - HÎE'me katılan ve is kazası geçirenler, geçirdikleri kazayı büyük ölçüde, HİE sonrasında (%17.7) geçirmişlerdir. HlE öncesi geçirenler (%8.3)'dir. - Yıllara göre eğitilen kişi sayısında artış olmasına rağmen, iş kazası sayılarının azalma göstermemesi gibi bulgulardan; Araştırmanın yapıldığı işyerlerinde HlE faaliyetinin is kazalarından korunmada etkili olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. HlE'min, is kazalarını önlemedeki gerçek etkisini görmek, yapılacak pilot bir uygulama sonrası mümkün olabilir.
