Detected threats and their lethality for a defending naval vehicle were studied. Three different algorithms (Bayesian Inference, Dempster ? Shafer Theory, Transferable Belief Model) were used. Since these three algorithms work different, they produced different results for detected threats comprising same features. In order to evaluate and compare these results different results, a variable called ?lethality? was defined. All algorithms worked in its own way and evaluated the detected threat, then produced a ?lethality? value for that threat. Evaluation of lethality was the first part of naval defense system. The success criterion in the first part of the system was the time duration which each algorithm required to evaluate the threat. In the second part of the system, if the produced lethality value was bigger than a threshold value, the defending naval vehicle started weapons assignment algorithm against the detected threat, in order to defend itself and defeat the threat with minimum resource consumption. Success criterion of the whole system was the resource consumption of the system for defeating the threat. Since lethality value depended on the algorithm type which were used in the first part of the system (each algorithm might have produced different lethality values), choice of the algorithm affected the resource consumption.
