The lack of importance of the public will in pre-democracy systems brought along the unilateral notion of political representation. Today, with the development of democracy, public has become one of the basic elements of political representation. Political representation in the countries governed by democracy takes place with the participation of representatives of people in the parliaments. Although this does not ensure that each person's candidate representative is in the parliament, parliaments seem to be a small-scale map of the will of the majority of the population. One of the main actors in the formation of these preferences of the people who have a say in the administration of democratic systems through the preferences is the concept of habitus. Thanks to Pierre Bourdieu's meaningful explanation in the literature, the winning habitus concept refers to a concept that cannot be explained in a single sentence in terms of its dynamic structure consisting of many variables. The habitus, which has a sense of collectivity as well as individuality, refers to a concept that takes its roots from history but can modernize itself, achieving not to be overshadowed by the past. In this study, the habitus of the people of Manisa and its reflection on political practice were examined. To understand the infrastructure of Manisa habitus, the historical background of Manisa and political preferences of people of Manisa throughout the history of the Republic of Turkey is also put forward. In light of the information obtained via this study, political implications have been deducted by examining the political choices in Manisa after 2002, which is the beginning of the longest period of one-party rule in the parliamentary system in Turkey.
