Özet

Constructivist architecture is an experimental movement, emerged from an extensive constructivist sense of art, which grew out of Russian Futurism at the beginning of the 1920s and established the ground that brings out Modern Architecture. According to the historical perspective, first traces of the underlying principles of computer-aided design and manufacturing technologies which has a greatly increased usage nowadays are encountered in Constructivism. The objective of the thesis is to open up the discussion of this relationship and evaluate it with computational design tools.Within the scope of the thesis, Constructivism which developed in accordance with the ideas of the artists defending the ?Production Art? against the conception of ?Lab Art? is investigated and the calculative infrastructures of these approaches are explored. As a result, according to the rule-based designs obtained through the significant examples of constructivist architecture, it is emphasized that Constructivism and the geometrical approach stemming from it, have a pioneering role in the occurrence and the development of computational design technologies.
