129 SUMMARY Detection of Milking Machine Faults Causing Subclinical Mastitis in Dairy Cows In this study; it was aimed to determine the interaction between the herd udder health profiles and the technical problems of milking machines by highlighting the deficiencies on milking systems in the dairying and to reach a conclusion on finding the possible solutions. In this study; 6 dairy farms located in the district of Ankara were visited monthly, in a period of 10 months, consisting of 2 months control and 8 months application period. In the control period, error counts and error rates of the visited farms' and cellular parameters representing the herd udder health, such as the mean CMT score, mean BSCC score and mean LS were systematically recorded. In the 4 of 6 farms visited in the application period, milking units were developed by the technical care, while in 2 of them, herd udder health was seriously effected due to the undesired technical care of the milking units. As a result in good conditioned (group I or A) and negative conditioned (group II or B) managements, error rates were measured as %19,7 and %49,7 in the control period; %3,8 and %60,6 at term respectively. Similarly, due with the cellular parameters on the herd udder health status, mean CMT score, mean BSCC and LS values were 2,74, 809.912 and 6 in group I; 1,86, 420.899 and 5 in group II in control period, 2,31, 710.732 and 5 in group I; 2,67, 460.762 and 5 in group II at term, respectively. As a result; the initial aims as the status of the mechanical functional disorders of milking machines effecting the herd udder health by means of developing new subclinical mastitis and the level of these risks in the dairy farms around Ankara were determined. Key Words : Dairy cow, Subclinical mastitis, Milking machine faults, Somatic Cell count, Udder health status in herds.

128 ÖZET Sütçü İneklerde Subklinik Mastitislerin Şekillenmesinde Sağım Makinesine İlişkin Sorunların İncelenmesi Sunulan çalışmada; süt sığırcılığındaki sağım sistemleri ile sağım yönetimi konusundaki eksikliklere dikkat çekerek, sürü meme sağlığı profilleri ile sağım makinelerinin teknik sorunları arasındaki ilişkiyi belirgin bir şekilde ortaya koymak, sonuçta konu ile ilgili çözüm önerilerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, Ankara çevresinde bulunan toplam 6 adet süt sığırcılığı işletmesine 2 ay kontrol dönemi, 8 ay çalışma dönemi olmak üzere 10 ay süre ile aylık periyodik ziyaretler yapıldı. Kontrol döneminde, ziyaret edilen işletmelerdeki sağım sistemlerinin hata sayılan ve sistem hata oranları ile sürü meme sağlığı durumuna ilişkin hücresel parametrelerden ortalama CMT (California Mastitis Test) skoru, ortalama BSCC (Bulk tank milk Somatic Cell Count) skoru ve ortalama LS (Linear Scor) değeri belirlendi. Çalışma döneminde, ziyaret edilen 6 işletmeden 4'ünde sağım sistemleri teknik bakımı sonucunda istenilen olumlu ilerlemeler sağlanabilirken diğer 2'sinde sağım sistemlerindeki olumsuz gelişmelere paralel olarak sürü meme sağlığı belirgin şekilde olumsuz yönde etkilendiği saptandı. Buna göre, çalışmada sağım sistemlerinde olumlu gelişmeler sağlanan işletmeleri I. Grup (A), sağlanamayan işletmeleri ise II.
