In this study, YIG (Y3Fe5O12) thin films grown on GGG (Gd3Ga5O12) substrates by Pulsed Laser Deposition technique, in order to prepare a base for magnonic crystals. Deposition pressure and temperature values were changed to determine the best growth condition. For this purpose, the thin films grown from 100 mTorr to 250 mTorr, with 50 mTorr pressure steps in 560 - 800 ℃ range and this ranges chosen by the physical structure of the plasma plume. In order to investigate the microstructure of the films, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) techniques have been used. Due to the YIG and GGG having the same crystal structure and XRD data, the Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDX) has been used to specify the composition of the films. Except for the pressure and temperature; total pulse number, laser frequency, heating and cooling speed, target to substrate distance, laser influence and annealing conditions has been fixed. The results show that the best crystal structure achieved by PLD with the YIG sample prepared at 100 mTorr pressure and 800 ℃ temperature.

Bu çalışmada, Darbeli Lazer Biriktirme (PLD) tekniği kullanılarak magnonik kristalin alt yapısını oluşturacak YIG (Y3Fe5O12) ince filmler, GGG (Gd3Ga5O12) alttaş üzerine büyütülmüştür. Basınç ve sıcaklık değerleri değiştirilerek en iyi büyütme şartı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla YIG ince filmler hedef üzerinde oluşan plazma bulutunun fiziksel yapısı göz önüne alınarak, 100 mTorr'dan 250 mTorr'a kadar 50 mTorr'luk basınç adımlarıyla, 560 – 800 °C aralığında büyütülmüştür. Hazırlanan filmlerin mikroyapısının incelenmesi amacıyla X-Işını Kırınımı (XRD) ve Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu (SEM) görüntüleri incelenmiştir. YIG ve GGG'nin aynı kristal yapı ve XRD verisine sahip olması nedeniyle, ince filmlerin kompozisyonunun belirlenmesi amacıyla Enerji Dağılımlı X-Işını Spektrometresi (EDX) kullanılmıştır. Basınç ve sıcaklık haricinde; atış sayısı, tekrarlama frekansı, ısıtma ve soğutma hızı, hedef-alttaş mesafesi, lazer uyarma enerjisi ve tavlama şartları gibi diğer değişkenler sabitlenmiştir. PLD ile büyütülen YIG ince filmlerden elde edilen ölçümler, 100 mTorr ve 800 °C'de hazırlanan numunenin kristal yapı olarak en iyi sonucu verdiğini göstermiştir.
