Sentiment analysis is the processing of semantic information on the textual data (Sms, tweet, etc.) gathered from social media. In this thesis, sentiment analysis is done to decide whether the messages sent from social media are spam or raw. In this context, sentiment analysis can be regarded as the classification of short textual messages. In the course of sentiment analysis, deep learning and classical classification methods are used and compared to each other. In the deep learning concept, to decide whether a message is spam or raw, word embedding that represents words in the vector space and recurrent neural network (RNN) methods are used in the literature. In our study, success of different activation functions used throughout induced deep learning method (a combination of RNN and word embedding) are compared. As the classical classification algorithms; SVM (Support Vector Machine), MNB (Multi Nominal Naïve Bayes), RF (Random Forest), LR (Logistic Regression) and KNN (K Nearest Neighbor) algorithms have been used and their performances were compared to each other and the induced deep learning method. Deep learning method, for some activation functions, give better accuracy results for both Turkish and English textual data when compared to classical classification methods.

Duygu analizi sosyal medyadan elde edilen metinsel veriler (Sms, tweet, vb.)
