In this research the effects of Lentinula edodes and Pleurotus ostreatus medicinal mushroom extracts which were extracted in water were examined on the non-specific immune system of the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). For this purpose, the fish were fed with food, including 1% and 2 % L. edodes ve P. ostreatus mushroom extract for six weeks. During the feeding process, immunological, biochemical, hematological parameters, biometric and histological observations were assessed using the fish and blood samples taken at weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Furthermore, at the end of the six-week feeding process, the fish were challenged with Lactococcus garvieae fish pathogen by intraperitoneal injection and mortality were recorded. Upon the evaluation of the results taken from rainbow trout that had been fed with different concentration of the medicinal mushroom extract, it was found that there was a significant influence on the immunological parameters in comparison to the control group. Specifically 2% P. ostreatus, 1 % and 2 % L. edodes groups were found significant on intracellular respiratory burst and phagocytic activity, serum lysozyme, total protein, myeloperoxidase and bactericidal activity compared to the control group. Statistically significant levels of serum total immunoglobulin were detected only in the group fed with 2% L. edodes mushroom extract. The immunological and biometric evaluations determined that the maximum influence occurs in rainbow trout fed with 2 % L. edodes extract. At the end of the feeding period, there was no trace of pathological findings in the liver and intestine samples. In fact that, the fat ratio in the liver was found lower in the experimental group in comparison to the control group. A challenge conducted in week six showed that the survival rate is the highest in the 2% L. edodes supplemented feed feeding group. The research has concluded that the non-specific immune system of the rainbow trout was stimulated fed with both L. edodes and P. ostreatus medicinal mushroom extract added feed were utilized in the research yielded positive results in comparison to the control group by enhancing the growth performance.
