Ill SUMMARY Ph.D. Thesis The Research On The Manufacturing Defects Frequently Met At The Agricultural Tool And Machines Produced In The Region Of Trakya Trakya University The Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences Agricultural Machinary Mainscience Section Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Selçuk ARIN Jury: In the research, which is focused on quality, it has been aimed to reveal and evaluate the frequently met problems in the agricultural machinery production. The results obtained from the study are as follows : The research has shown that the purchased finished products have been used without proper material input testing. The purchased finished products were not produced by required technical characteristics because of the supplier could not be inspected. As the result of micro-structural and chemical analyses, hardness measurements and other important specific tests, it is determined that the materials used do not have the correct composition. When the percentages of proper material usage for the most commonly used supplementary products, such as cast axes, harrow showels, bolt-nuts and springs are examined, only Firm-I is in respect.IV 2. Welding and all the elements affecting welding have been investigated and the quality controls of welded test specimens have been verified by both non-destructive testing (visual test, penetrant test, radiography) and by mechanical testing (tensile test, bending test, macrotest-fracture, hardness test) qualification and procedure tests have been applied to twenty-one separate welders working in the corporations and their success rates have been detected. The highest success rates of the mechanical tests are obtained in Firm-D and Firm-G with 47%, Firm-I with 42%, Firm-K with 38% and Firm-M with 23%. In the radiography testing and other non-destructive tests, the most common volumetric-internal structural defects are observed as lack of root penetration and high level of porosity. The studies showed that qualified welders and well-maintained welding machines are key factors in maintaining a high welding quality. 3. In this research, in order to determine the painting quality primarily the corrosion resistance tests (salt spray-fog testing, coil coating-humidity testing) and other specific tests (resistance of impact testing, adhesion-extensibility testing, measuring adhesion by tape test, specular gloss testing, paint thickness testing) have been applied. As a result of the coiTosion resistance tests, highest success rates have been obtained in Firm-K with 72%, Firm-G and Firm-M with 61%, Firm-I with 55% and Firm-D with 33%. The results of the studies on painting showed that the success in tests depends on not only the paint thickness, but also on the experience of the painter, pre-paint surface finish and application conditions. 2004, Page: 135 Key words: Material structure, manufacturing defect, weld quality, paint quality, corrosion.

Doktora Tezi Trakya Yöresinde Üretilen Bazı Tarım Alet ve Makinalarında Sık Rastlanan İmalat Hataları Üzerine Bir Araştırma Trakya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Tarım Makinaları Anabilim Dalı Danışman: Prof. Dr. Selçuk ARIN Jüri: Bu araştırmada, tarım makinaları imalatında en fazla karşılaşılan sorunların bir kalite çalışması olarak ortaya çıkarılması ve değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada, aşağıdaki sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. 1.
