Özet

In this study, we deal with Turkey?s integration process by comparing two periods in which the British and US hegemonies were capable to order the accumulation potential in a worldwide scale and we accentuate that with the new orientation towards the EU in the 21st century, the format of the integration has also changed. In a turnout that the British hegemony was dominant globally, the Ottoman social structure raveled out step by step; however, with the foundation of the nation state it showed a new progress. In the second half of the 20th century the progress of the integration process was shaped in respect to the new global power relations and the inwardly accumulation strategy became the backbone of the period. The appearance of a ?interior bourgeoisie? capable to control and order the capital accumulation process in this period is especially important in the integration process. In the 21st century Turkey entered into a new process as a result of the outwardly accumulation strategies applied after 1980s and in globally existing hegemony struggles the membership to the EU gained more importance. The main emphasis in this study is that while the integration process brought a fast raveling out in the 19th century, it gained a new and different dimension in the 21st century as a result of the concentrated capitalist relations.
