Canaan geography's communities, which had an important place in the Mediterranean trade since the Bronze Age, underwent a significant transformation with the Aegean Migrations at the end of the period and as a result, a synchritic community called the Phoenicians emerged. This community, which played a key role among the other powerful civilizations in the Mediterranean of Antiquity, served as an intermediary to transfer the Eastern culture to the West with its commercial and cultural relations with others. It is inevitable that the coasts of the South Anatolian region and the interior of Anatolia were also found among the activity area of the community, which was found almost everywhere in the Mediterranean. The existence of the Phoenicians in the region, which gained a new political appearance with the establishment of the late Hittite principalities, is a matter of debate. In this study the Phoenician mainland, which correponds to modern Lebanon, colonies and official reports about the archaeological excavations in Kilikia and surrounding area, scientific articles, monograms related to the Phoenicians, classical sources, inscriptions and research works were used; Kilikia's situation since the Bronze Age; the political, economical and cultural structure at the beginning of the Iron Age and the nature of the existence of Phoenicians in this structure were examined. In the light of all these, the cultural and economic aspects of Phoenician existence in the region were emphasized. In this context, the opinions about the reasons of being seen of Phoenician language and art in the inner regions were examined and the evaluations were made about how the expansion took place. In addition, new options have been put forward on where the sovereignty areas of some Late Hittite principalities were covered.
