It was aimed in the present study to evaluate the properties of agricultural mechanisation in the provinces of Erzurum Erzincan and Bayburt named as `TRA1 NUTS II Region` in the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NTUS).For this aim, agricultural mechanisation characteristics were determined based on both districts and city centres by using 2013 data of TÜİK (Turkish State Statistical Institute) related to the ownership of agricultural machines and tools and that obtained from the Provincial Agriculture Administration in three provinces. In addition, in order to obtain further data than that out of records in TRA1 NUTS II Region, a questionnaire survey was conducted face to face over totally 202 farmers among 18.354 farmers owning tractor using simple random sampling method in all districts and city centre.Total surface area of agricultural lands in TRA1 NUTS II Region is 794.951 ha and the number of tractors in the Region is 18.354. The number of tractors per 1000 ha agricultural land is 23,04 and far lower than the country's average, which is 43,82. The amount of agricultural land per tractor is 43,31 ha and this value is larger than again the country's average. The number of machines and tools per tractor is 4,74 in TRA1 Region, while it is 5,19 for the country. Tractor power per unit area in the Region is 0,92 kW/ha while the average of the country is 40,04 kW/ha.Land ownership of agricultural businesses, their problems and solutions, plant species they grow and their surface areas, situation of plots, animal growth, data about their tractors, amount of machines and tools were determined using face to face questionnaire method and solution proposals were presented.
