In this thesis, two different boundary value problems are considered, which are on twodifferent spaces, and for these problems Lyapunov-type inequalities are obtained. Inchapter one, the literature of the inequalities being investigated, the development ofthe Lyapunov-type inequalities is mentioned and also as it is in the same directionwith the subject of the thesis, the results about partial dierential equations are statedwidely. In chapter two, it is focused on esential denitions and some concepts, whichare needed for the following chapters, and then the spaces on which are used, aredened and some some properties of the spaces are given. Then in chapter three, onSobolev spaces, the boundary value problem, which consists of a class of quasilinearelliptic equation with Robin boundary conditions, is dened and then for this problemLyapunov-type inequalities are obtained. Also, in this chapter, for the rst positiveeigenvalue of this problem a lower bound is obtained and also it is noted that in thisproblem , instead of Robin boundary condition, Dirichlet boundary condition can betaken that in this case, the same results can be obtained. In chapter four, the problemwhich is considered in chapter three is generalized and for this problem, similar resultsare obtained. In chapter ve, on Variable Exponent Sobolev spaces a class of twodimensional quasilinear elliptic system is dened and for this system, Lyapunov-typeinequalities are obtained. Then for the rst positive eigenvalue of this system, a lowerbound is obtained. In chapter six, the problem, which is considered in chapter ve, isgeneralized to n-dimensional case and then in this case, Lyapunov-type inequalities areobtained. Finaly, in last chapter the obtained results are discussed and some studiesthat can be done in the future are mentioned.
