This study was conducted at Ceylanpinar Agricultural Enterprises situated in the Ceylanpmar county of Şanlıurfa province, between 1991 and 1992. The processing tomato cultivars VF-6203, Royal Bull and H-2274 were used in the study. The area of each plot was 6 m2. Different levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and foliar fertilizers and different concentrations of Ethrel were applied and their effects on seed yield were determined. 0, 8, 12, 16 and 20 kgN/da doses were applied keeping P205 and KjO constant, and 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10 kgP205/da doses were applied keeping N and K^O constant. Universal foliar fertilizers (20 : 20 : 20) Nutri-Leaf, Grow More and Microent were used in addition to the conventional soil fertilization and 0, 100, 250, 500, 1000 and 1500 ppm doses of Ethrel [(2- choloroethyl) phosphonic acid] were used in hormone applications, again in addition to the common soil fertilization. Fruit yield per plot, seed yield per plot, number of seeds in 1 g and 1000 seed weight were considered as parameters of evaluation. Regarding nitrogen applications, 20 kgN/da dose gave the highest fruit yield and seed yield per plot. The highest fruit yield per plot in 20 kgN/da application were 28.854 kg in the first year and 26.979 kg in the second year. The highest seed yields per plot in 20 kgN/da applications were 59.053 g in the first year and 56.293 g in the second year 20 kgN/da dose gave the lowest number of seeds in 1 g with 417.000 and 403.167 in first and second year, respectively. This dose provided the highest 1000 seed weight with 2.400 g in the first year and 2.483 g in the second year. When cultivars were considered, cv. VF-6203 gave the highest seed yields per plot with 56.099 g and 49.320 g in the first and second year, respectively. This was followed by cv. H-2274 with 46. 154 g in the first year and 47.762 g in the second and by cv. Royal Bull with 37.342 g in the first year and 38.001 g in the second year. With respect to phosphorus applications, 10 kgP,05/da dose gave the highest fruit yield per plot and seed yield per plot in all cultivars. The highest fruit yields per plot in 1083 kgP205/da applications was 24.768 kg in the first year and 23. 196 kg in the second year. The highest seed yields per plot in 10 kgP205/da applications were 47.383 g and 48.483 g in lie first and second year, respectively. 7.5 kgP205/da dose gave the lowest number of seeds in 1 g with 445.833 in the first year and 430.833 in the second. 7.5 kgP205/da application resulted in the highest 1000 seed weight, with 2.242 g and 2.325 g in the first and second year, respectively. Of the cultivars, the highest seed yields per plot were obtained from cv. H-2274 as 58.782 g in the first year and 58.651 g in the second. This was followed by cv. VF-6203 with 37.5 1 1 g and 35.765 g, respectively and by cv. Royal Bull with 35.182 and 35.689 g in the first and second year, respectively. In foliar fertilizer applications, all three foliar fertilizers gave higher fruit yields and seed yields per plot compared with control. The highest fruit yield per plot was obtained from Grow More with 15.175 kg in the first year and Microent with 16.075 kg in the second year. Grow More and Microent also gave the highest seed yields per plot with 3 1. 108 g and 32.487 g in the first and second year, respectively. Foliar fertilizers did not have significant effect on the number of seeds in 1 g and 1000 seed weight. When cultivars were considered cv. H-2274 gave the highest seed yields with 32.799 g and 33.046 g in the first and second year, respectively. This was followed by cv. VF-6203 with 27. 134 g in the first year and 27.918 g in the second, and by cv. Royal Bull with 25.696 g in the first and second year, respectively. With respect to hormone applications, 500 ppm and 1000 ppm Ethrel [(2- choloroethyl) phosphonic acid] applied at the stage, which 50% the fruits ripened, gave the best results regarding fruit yield and seed yield per plot. The highest fruit yield per plot as a result of 500 ppm application was 20.921 kg in the first year and 21.508 kg in the second year. The highest seed yields per plot obtained from 500 ppm application were 46.279 g in the first year and 46.753 g in the second. The highest fruit yield per plot with 1000 ppm application were 20.663 kg in the first year and 21.925 kg in the second. The highest seed yields per plot with this dose were 45.720 g and 47.308 g in the first and second year, respectively. Hormone applications did not significantly affect the number of seeds in I g and 1000 seed weight. Hormone applications did not cause a significant difference between cultivars regarding seed yield per plot and the seed yields of cultivars were close to each other. According to the results of the study, 20 kgN/da, 10 kgP205/da, a universal foliar fertilizer (20 : 20 : 20) and 500 or 1000 ppm of Ethrel [(2- choloroethyl) phosphonic acid] applications gave the best results, when nitrogen, phosphorus, foliar fertilizer and hormone applications are evaluated independently.
