Türkish cinema has utilized theater art and performers and directors originated from theater in feature movies since the beginning years. Our cinema did not create its own authentic language yet in these years and has been influenced very much from the theater art in terms of form and content. Particularly Muhsin Ertuğrul, who worked as the only director in our cinema for seventeen years, has shot theatrical atmosphere movies with a weak cinema language from the selection of subject and performers to the formal operation and has influenced our cinema negatively in this regards. Some theater originated performers and directors out of theater passing to cinema as directors after Muhsin Ertuğrul have realized works far from theatrical influence in terms of form and content. Starting from 1950's, Turkish cinema has started to create its own authentic cinema language and some of the theater originated directors, whose amount decreased, have shot movies sutiable to this authentic cinema language. When the movies are reviewed, it is observed that an insight displaying a harmony with the content from the assembly to picture editing, from angle and objective selections to the usage of the music and light is settled. On the other hand, the theater originated performers who have performed in leading rolesin movies for long years have gone into character roles in background by leaving their places to new performers coming from out of the theater. It is also observed that there is a smaller and moderate interpretation in performing by considering the technical structure of the cinema. Besides this, the theater performers who work rigorously in dubbing field which has developed as a branch in our cinema have dubbed many performers for long years and have continued the theatrical influence in way of speaking.
