Today, artist notebooks can be exhibited as art objects, free from being the means of the original work. In this thesis, the concrete and primary sources of the poetry world of İlhan Berk, who was able to incorporate all kinds of visuality into his poetic language, were examined in the area where the notebook was liberated. Ilhan Berk, who considers all kinds of creations with the eye of writing and denies poetry as an individual genre, has a wide visual structure ranging from photographs to handwriting, restaurant menus and patterns in his notebooks and books which are the printed versions of his notebooks. It can also be observed from Berk's published books that Berk's poetry contains visual images belonging to different disciplines that can be denied to enter into the poetic language. Berk's intertemporal spatial queries, the fact that he places his body at the center of all kinds of research and creation, and his interest in the realm of objects make him more unique. This thesis is thought to be important in terms of witnessing a poet's research in the visual possibilities of poetic language, and the primary objects of these researches and creations. The body, space, writing, the realm of objects, the relationship between painting and writing, the realm of numbers and signs form an intertwined spiral structure in Berk's art universe. Finally, it can be seen that poetic language can also be the subject of interdisciplinary research. The notebook is the concrete and primary object of the relationship that the artist enters with the body of the artist as a certain space. It can also be approached the notebook in terms of the metaphor of home and space. While we look at the source of the direct and indirect relations that the body enters with the notebook at the moment of creation, we also look at the space of the notebook. By looking at the notebook, we also witness the temporal archetype of creation. As a result, in this thesis, İlhan Berk notebooks are examined in terms of visuality in the context of artist notebooks and it is revealed where the language is connected in its interdisciplinary multilayered points.

Sanatçı defterleri günümüzde asıl yapıtın aracı olmaktan kurtulmuş halde birer sanat nesnesi olarak sergilenebiliyorlar. Defterin özgürleştiği bu alanda görselliğin her türünü şiir diline katabilmiş olan İlhan Berk'in, şiir dünyasının somut ve birincil kaynaklarını inceledik. Her türlü yaratıya yazı gözüyle bakan, şiir diye bir türü yadsıyan İlhan Berk, defterlerinde ve defterlerinin basılmış halleri kitaplarında fotoğraftan, el yazılarına, lokanta menülerine, desenlere değin geniş bir görsel yapı hakim. Berk'in yayımlanmış kitaplarında da şiir diline girmesi yadsınacak farklı disiplinlere ait görsel imgelerin Berk'in şiir diline girebildiğini görürüz.
