In this study, the reflection on such components as editing, theme, visuality, and character of the change that has been in place especially subsequent to 1970 and is attempted to be explained by the term `postmodernism? is being reviewed. At this juncture, -in parallel with the common inclination- the issue of what postmodernism is is addressed through its comparison with modernism.Postmodernism has been observed to have its reflection in art as a critical approach to certain forms of the modern art and in this context postmodern changes of various artistic practices have been tried to be presented. The changes that have taken place in cinema, which was established as a form of modern art, and been interpreted as postmodern are included in the study and the likelihood of postmodern cinema is discussed. Postmodern elements that have wrecked the conventional structure of modern cinema via such approaches as schizophrene characters, pastiche, fragmented story, eclecticism, and superficiality have been observed to be involved at different rates in different types of movies. This situation poses the conclusion that not all the movies labeled as postmodern are furnished with exactly the same postmodern components and this distinction is indicated in the movies addressed in the study. As a consequence of all these considerations, it is suggested that although there is an uprising against modern forms in cinema like in other arts, for now it is more accurate to talk about movies with postmodern characteristics and postmodern elements in cinema instead of depicting postmodern cinema per se based on this opposition. Keywords: Postmodernism, postmodernism in cinema, postmodern art.
