The usage of dental prostheses is increasing day by day. Improvement studies in terms of aesthetics and usability of the dental prostheses are gaining speed. In this study, characterization and properties of some commercially used dental prosthesis coating frit were determined. The studies were carried out to improve the physical properties of these dental prosthesis coating frit and production of dental prosthesis coating frit without impurities that could pose a threat to human health was realized. During the development process, formulas of the dental prosthesis coating frits were considered which does not contain harmful impurities, can be used as medium temperature firing frit, both full porcelain systems and metal-supported porcelain systems can be easily adapted. Their productions were made. Thermal analysis, contact angle analysis, surface color and gloss analysis and microstructure characterization of dental prosthesis coating frit were analyzed. In this study, techniques of heat microscope, dilatometer, spectrophotometer and glossmeter were applied. Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) element analyzes were analyzed for microstructure studies. By XRF analysis, it was observed that the impurities, which should remain below 0.15% by weight, were below the determined ratios. In the studies, the formula of number 4 within zirconium oxide was observed the best properties according to natural tooth color values, thermal behaviors compatible with the dental porcelain base and the contamination performance of contact angle.
