In this thesis, the effects of different sound stimulation on growth performance wereinvestigated in common carp (Cyprinus carpio). A total number of 240 fish placed in aquariumsin triplicate groups for a 75 days experiment. The audio files were transmitted to the groups for3 hours a day with the computer-controlled directed loudspeaker devices, and the fish were fedwith ornamental fish feed twice a day. There was no statistically significant difference in liveweight gain between groups (p>0.05). Statistically significant differences were observed ingroup values (p<0.05) for relative growth by weight (RGW) and specific growth rate (SGR).The highest RGW (276.54 ± 2.63 g) and SGR values (1.47 ± 0.01 %) were observed in theclassical music transmitted group. Including the control, feed efficiency (FE), feed conversionratio (FCR) and condition factor (K) did not differ significantly between the groups (p>0.05). Atthe end of the experiment, the highest survival rate (SR) was calculated in the rock transmittedmusic group and the lowest survival rate was observed in the control group. The resultsobtained in this study indicated that sound stimulation has a positive effect on weight gain andsurvival rate in carp. Significant differences in survival rates are thought to be the result ofchanges in stress levels of experimental fish. The system and the procedure used in this studyhave the potential to be a non-invasive and environmental growth promoter for fish.Key Words: Common carp, growth performance, sound stimulation, growth promoter.
