Özet

Having played a key role in the economic development of the Volga Bulgarian State, the Volga River has become one of the most important connecting points of the northern branch of the Great Silk Road. The Volga River flows into the Caspian Sea, linking it to China through the Caucasus because of the large trade route that stretches from Iran to Turkestan-Harezm. Again, the connection with the largest of the Volga's Kama, Kama and Western Siberian. Along the Volga River The trade that started between the Scandinavian countries and the Sassanians since the IX-XII century, developed with the participation of Varyag-Russians in this trade, the Volga Bulgarian country has become the center of international trade activities. The most important reason for the Volga Bulgarian State becoming a commercial center is the fact that the state was established in a geopolitically favorable region. The Central Volga region, which has suitable routes for trade with the rich river network, has determined the fate of the Volga Bulgarian State. In the trade conducted in this region, the Volga Bulgarian merchants played an intermediary role to transfer the goods of the north from the Islamic world to the east and the goods of the east from the east and the Baltic countries to the north and the west in the same way. The trade developing in the Volga Bulgarian State of Itilt was very important for the history of Eastern European trade in the IX-XIII centuries.
