Özet

People's Republic of China is the largest country in the world. At the same time, thanks to the economic reforms which has done, she is the second largest economy in the world today. Having such a large population and economy can also cause some disadvantages for the People's Republic of China. Because of the welfare of the population and the sustainability of the economy, there is a need for accessible, inexpensive and continuous energy sources. The People's Republic of China is now a clear natural gas and oil importer. For this reason, the People's Republic of China has focused on energy, transport and trade routes through the New Silk Road Project. At this point, the importance of Central Asian countries is great. In addition to having rich hydrocarbon resources, Central Asian countries are also on the transit route of very important political and commercial roads. The North and South Corridors in the New Silk Road Project are not safe because of terrorist incidents in Pakistan and Afghanistan, the embargoes in Russia and Iran. Therefore, the importance of the Central Asian Countries, which is defined as the Middle Corridor in the New Silk Road Project, is increasing for the People's Republic of China. However, it can be said that due to the recent intensive concentration of the People's Republic of China in Central Asia, there has been anxiety about the expansion of China in the region through the settlement policy. For this reason, it has been examined whether the intense interest of the People's Republic of China in Central Asia is in the geo-economic infrastructure within the framework of energy security.
