Throughout history, wars and state governments not only shaped the political structures of countries, but also they affected social, economic, psychological lifes of individuals. It is possible to see the effects of Francisco Franco –one of the most important statesmen, who came to power after the Spanish Civil War–on the literary works during the 36-year rule of the Franciscan period. In the aftermath of the civil war Spanish people faced losses, the post-war famine, the unequal distribution of wealth, the cultural collapse and moral erosion. Franco ruled the country with a dictatorship and throughout his rule the people remained under oppression. The changing political and social structure of Spain has also influenced the literature. In the field of literature, authors were caught between the Franco administration's censorship or the threat of their works not being printed. The language used by the authors and their narrative characteristics indicate the effects of this era. In this thesis, children's literature produced during the repressive management and prominent authors have been researched and studied from various sources.Borita Casas, one of the notable author of the children's literature in the postwar period, and her methodology and expression technique were introduced with the study of Antoñita La Fantástica, her first and most important work. Against the danger of censorship or not being printed, the author has written this book with a view of optimism. In fact, the protagonist's work reflects the inner world of the author and the realities about the country and society, albeit implicitly, and such reflections were quoted with citations throughout this thesis. Keywords: Civil War, General Francisco Franco, Borita Casas, Antoñita La Fantástica, Children's Literature.
