Özet

The coup which was occured in 27 May 1960 is the main effect that determined the politics of 1960s in Turkey. The coup was taken place out of the chain of command which is a coup for the politics also a coup for the internal functionality of the national army. Thus, the coup of 27 May had caused so many juntas in the army during 1960s. Although, there has been so many studies about the relationship of civilians and army in the term of 27 May 1960 and 12 March 1971, none of these studies have not been especially related to attempt of the coup in 9 March 1971. This thesis has discussed the background of the coup attempt in 9 March 1971 and analyzes the ideological statuses of the people who attempted for the coup. The masterminds of the coup attempt in 9 March 1971 who was described 27th May as an `unfinished coup` were aimed to sustain 27th May coup. Parliamentarism is an obstacle for the development of Turkey and it causes to fall behind of the country in the minds of masterminds of the coup. According to soldiers who stage a coup, the solution for this is a coup with the leadership of army- civilian bureaucracy. Just this way 27th May can access its real purpose and Turkey can develop economically.
