m ABSTRACT PH. D. Thesis AN INVESTIGATION OF THE PRESENT STATUS OF SUNFLOWER STORAGE BUILDINGS IN TEKİRDA? DISTRICT AND THEffi IMPROVEMENT POSSIBILITIES Can Burak ŞİŞMAN Trakya University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science Department of Farm Structure and Irrigation Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Lokman DELİBAŞ 2003, Page: 135 Nowadays increasing agricultural production is based on obtaining more product from unit area. Suitable utilization of agricultural products and storage until marketing are also impotant besid as increasing agricultural production. The aim of storage is to preserve properties of products and their freshness. If suitable storage condition aren't supplied according to product variety, quality and quantity losses increases. Decreasing this losses is possible with providing suitable storage condition and storage management. In this study, sunflower storage buildings that is used by Trace Oil Seeds Sailling Cooperative Union (Trace Union) in the Trace region was examined. Influences of storage condition on product losses were researched. The study was conducted in one of the Trace Union's reinforced concrete store, temporary store and a model storeİ.V having aeration system built specifiely for this research in the Agriculture Faculty's area. Temperature and relative humidity of the sunflower mass as storage conditions in the stores and moisture content, oil content and See fatty acids contents as quality parameters were monitored during the storage. According to the results, model store give the best results with an average temperature of 16,05° C and average humidity of 78 % during storage. When comparing the stores in respect to the sunflower quality properties; model storage provided the best result, increasing moisture content 0,74 %, decreasing oil content 1,20 % arid increasing free oil acid 1,13%. Having considered the available information in the literature and the observation from this study, the most suitable storage conditions was determined, necessary improvement ön the present storage buildings Were suggested âtid sample storage building project were developped for the future use. Key Words: Storage, sunflower, storage buildings, storage conditions, aeration.

ÖZET DOKTORA TEZİ TEKİRDAĞ YÖRESİNDEKİ AYÇİÇEK DEPOLARININ DURUMU VE GELİŞTİRME OLANAKLARI Can Burak ŞİŞMAN Trakya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Tarımsal Yapılar Ve Sulama Ana Bilim Dalı Danışman: Prof. Dr. Lokman DELİBAŞ 2003, Sayfa: 135 Günümüzde jarjmsaL üretimin arttırılması, birim alandan daha fazla ürün elde edilmesine dayanmaktadır.
