The theme of this study is the examination of Kemalettin Kami Kamu?s life and works, a poet of armistice era. The study, unlike to the previous studies did, aims to evaluate his works as a work of art under the circumstances and period which they were written rather than providing some statistical data. The dissertation has two main parts; in the first part, Kamu?s life and in the second part, his poems are studied. The method of the thesis is to gather the information about the poet?s life and later on to examine his collected works. For this purpose, the newspapers and the journals published before the poet?s dead, in other words before 1948, have been inspected; and later collected information and poems are tried to be integrated by summing up together. At the phase of examination of the works, the poems are assessed under the three headings as structure, theme/topic, and language and style. Here, special attention is paid to stress these points given for the poems by providing many examples. At the conclusion of the study, it is observed that Kemallettin Kamu was a very important poet in his era. However, the fact that he did not show enough interest in poetry and did not well emphasise his literary personality has caused the poet to be remembered by his a very few works.
