This study was performed to point out the advantages of organic fertilizers on artificialfertilizers and to put the first step in organic production, which is speedily spreading up acrossthe world. Since this study was first on the organic production in Tokat region, it would beimportant. The study was carried out on the six years old Giant plum trees in an orchard ofTokat Rural Affair Research Station in 2004-2005. In the experiment, the effect of sixdifferent fertilizers (sheep manure, cattle manure, cattle manure + Ormin K, cattle manure +sea moss, cattle manure + perl humus, cattle manure + Isr-2000 + Crop-Set) on the plumproduction were determined.Crown width, crown height, crown depth and crown sizes of trees; the number, thewidth, the length and total length of shoot in different ages; the height of trees, the yield pertree, the efficiency of yield; the width, length, weight and number of fruits; total soluble solid,pH, titretable acids, and the fruit firmness, number of leaves, leaf area, macro (N, P, K, Ca,Mg) and micro (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Na) elements in leaves were determined. The findings wereevaluated for fruits and trees parameters. Regarding to crown width, the largest crowns (229cm) were obtained from sheep manure treatment in 2004 and from cattle manure (285 cm)treatment in 2005 while the smallest ones were obtained from control treatment in both years,190 cm and 205 cm, respectively. There was no statistically difference among the treatmentsfor crown sizes in the both years of experiment. The highest yield per tree 5 kg/tree washarvested from cattle manure application. The yield efficiency was the highest (100,3 g/cm2)with cattle manure application and lowest (54,8 g/cm2) with cattle manure + Ormin K in2005.While the highest average fruit weight (53,97 g) was obtained from sheep manuretreatment, the smallest fruits (48,10 g) were harvested from cattle manure +Isr-2000+Crop-Set application. The highest total soluble solid content was obtained from cattle manure + seamoss (%15) and application. The fruit firmness was also affected by the treatments, wherethe firmest fruits (9,27 lb) were obtained from cattle manure + perl humus fertilizer. Highermacro nutrition contents of leaves than control were observed from treatments of sheepmanure, cattle manure + OrminK, cattle manure +sea moss, cattle manure +Isr-2000+Crop-Set. For the micro nutrition contents of leaves; cattle manure +sea moss, cattle manure + Isr-2000 + Crop-Set gave higher results. Macro nutrition contents of fruits, on the other hand, were higher by the application of cattle manure + OrminK. Micro nutrition contents of fruitswere higher by cattle manure + Isr-2000 + Crop-Set, cattle manure + OrminK fertilizers thancontrol treatment.Key words: plum production, organic farm, organic fertilizer, manure, fertilization.
