Özet

Oyster mushrooms have recently become a recognized and consumed mushroom in the world and one of the most important mushroom types in terms of agricultural production in Turkey. In this thesis, it is tested whether oyster mushroom production is economically feasible in beech and poplar log, which is used as a rural development tool. The study data consist of oyster mushroom production and sales values in beech and poplar logs in and out of the greenhouse. The data obtained from the production both inside and outside the greenhouse were evaluated using Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit Cost Ratio (FMO), Repayment Period (RP), Internal Rate of Return (IRR).present value methods. The results of the analysis indicated that the production of this mushroom on beech logs in the greenhouses yielded more income than the corresponding ones in the market interest rate which made it economically viable.
