The video game industry, which is progressing rapidly with current technological development, has become one of the most profitable industries around the World. The industry has been divided into many different genres over time, which reaches all demographics. As one of the most well-known genre, MMORPGs, have a critical share in this huge market. This research aims to reveal the effects of motivations on purchase intention and recruiting intention with the mediation of continuance intention in one of the most successful MMORPGs, World of Warcraft. In this case two different samples are surveyed and analysed separately, the European and United States servers. As the researcher I have had an active participation as a player in the game World of Warcraft to know the virtual world and observe the consumption behaviors of the virtual community in order to make meaningful statements. A total of 4170 players are surveyed, common aspects and differences between European and United States servers' players are investigated. According to the result, escapism is the most effective motivation on continuance intention for both samples. Purchase intention is mostly affected by both escapism and customization for both samples. When it comes to the recruiting intention the European sample is mostly affected by escapism while the United States sample is mostly affected by socializing.
