Wars, like everything else, have evolved and have taken on new forms with the advent of the 21st century. The concept of changing wars is now of an interdisciplinary nature. One of the main reasons for the emergence of wars, which have critical importance in terms of national security and strategic intelligence, is economic power struggles. At the same time, there is a need for a sound and sufficient economic power in order to take preparations for already commenced or possible wars and to manage the war perfectly. Just as it is necessary to possess a great `war economy` to organize and support the wars executed by the armies or other armed forces, the `economic warfare` must be structured in order to be prepared for all kinds of economic threats, dangers, ineffectiveness, uncertainties, oppressions and attacks, and to maintain defense. `war economy`, a part of classical military science and `economic war`, a part of modern intelligence science, come together at this point. Because both of their ultimate aims are to ensure national security and to obstruct as well as to prevent any strategic uncertainties and threats that may arise. For this reason, the `war economy` and the `economic war`, which are the two main branches of the concept of war, are often associated with one another, or, more precisely, follow each other in a vicious circle. The study theoretically discussed, investigated and examined what the concept of war and its two main branches: the `war economy` and the `economic war` were, what they contained, what of characteristics they had, what they covered, what common and different aspects they possessed, and what sort of significance they had in terms of national security and strategic intelligence.
