ABSTRACTPROCESS AUTOMATION MODELING WITH METADATAMANAGEMENT ON HETEROGENOUS SYSTEMSTRUCTURESD KER, NailMSc in Computer EngineeringSupervisor: Prof. Dr. Levent TOKERSeptember 2006, 110 pagesIn this thesis, the aim is to develop a platform that serves as an interfacefor the structures in the foundations that execute work processes withvarious operating systems, file types and database management systems. This platform must relive the work flow and model the existingautomation programs. In the previous chapters of the thesis, existing solutions in the issues suchas communication of the different structured systems, different databaseslinkage, software work as integrated, are examined and these solutions'incomplete issues are found. In the following chapters, the project thatcomplete these solutions' incomplete issues and improved after makinginvestigations and examinations is introduced in this thesis. The projectaim is to solve the problems that are seen in the heterogenic environment. In this case work structures' work logics, missions and requirements, userauthorization mechanism, work flow definition logic, issues will beexplained in detail. Keywords: Meta data management, data exchange between differentplatforms, communication of different platforms, XML for dataexchange, process automation.

Projenin amacı heterojen yapılarda karşılaşılan problemleriortadan kaldıran bir çözüm önermektir. Bu bağlamda iş yapılarının işmantıkları, görevleri ve gereksinimleri, kullanıcı yetkilendirmemekanizması, iş akışı tanımlama mantığı konuları üzerinde durulacaktır.Anahtar Sözcükler: Üst veri yönetimi, farklı platformlar arası verideğişimi, farklı platformların iletişimi, veri değişimi için XML, işotomasyon.
