Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem who was mentioned repeatedly in 19th Century Tanzimat Literature is an acknowledged author considered widely successful regarding his novels, plays and translations. The deaths of his children sequentially affected his life and literature sense deeply. The most admirable poem of him is `Nijad Ekrem` which was written for his deceased son.Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem whose father and grandfather was statesmen during Ottoman Empire era was born in a bureaucratic family and therefore he never experienced problems with the government. Moreover when his father realizes, his son is too sensitive to attend the military academy, he encourages him to take roles on different sections of the state and Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem works these state institutions for long years. The breaking point of his life is clearly his meeting with Namık Kemal. Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem who is introduced to the famous and talented Turkish poets and authors through his father and grandfather, learns about European literature after he meets with Namık Kemal and his friends.Although his sense of literature that he created by combining east and west literatures isn't sufficient enough to create masterpieces, his criticisms and literature studies give way to the following authors and men of letters. Considering this fact, it is fair to say that his teacher identity affected the future course of Turkish Literature. During his years as a lecturer in Mekteb-i Mülkiye and Mekteb-i Sultaniye; the founders and members of Servet-i Fünun literature which was born after Tanzimat era such as Tevfik Fikret, Cenab Şahabettin, Menemenlizade Mehmet Tahir and Safveti Ziya continues their literature life under his influence. The conflict between him and Muallim Naci about old-new literature for which he received a warning from the government is the most talked about literature subject of that era. Therefore it is safe to say the new era of Turkish literature, Servet-i Fünun was born at the school corridors as a result of this conflict. The textbooks and criticisms ,which can be considered as textbooks as well, of Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem, who reflects his teacher role on everything about his life from clothing, manners, discussions to the value he gives to literature, gets ahead of most of the works he wrote during his literature life. In this study books evaluated regarding Turkish Education System are; Ta'lim-i Edebiyat, Takdir-i Elhan, Takrizat, Kudemadan Birkaç Şair.Ta'lim-i Edebiyat is a school book written by Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem during his years at Mekteb-i Mülkiye as a teacher. This particular book, is used in this school which he teaches as well for long years.Takdir-i Elhan is published through his criticsm of his student Menemenlizade Mehmet Tahir's poem book which is called Elhan. Menemenlizade Mehmet Tahir sends his books to his teacher ahead of the publishing to get his opinions. At first, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem wants to write a poetics only about the poem called Elhan, but once his writings become criticism of Turkish and world literature, it is published as a book.Takrizat is combination of letters, including his criticisms about young poet and autors' works which are sent to Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem.Kudemadan Birkaç Şair consist of his literature lesson notes which he prepared as extra during his teaching years for literature enthusiasts. Moreover these are published as a helping source for Ta'lim-i Edebiyat which is surprising for him too, as he states in the abstract of the book that his lesson notes he never guesses to be published also published as a pocket book. The problem of this study is that there are similar education strategies, methods, technics and education principle in the current education system when his education literature books and current textbooks are compared. The purpose of the thesis is finding these similarities, comparing them with each other and highlighting them. The importance of the study is catching these common points between Tanzimat literature and current education system. Moreover this situation is not a coincidence. It is known that Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem is inspired the book called Traité Théoriqueet Pratique de Litterature written by the French writer Lefranc'.While the findings are determined, literature Scanning Model is applied. The universe of the study is twenty six books of Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem which are written about his art life, teacher identity and various other kinds. The sampling of the research is Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem's Ta'lim-i Edebiyat, Takdir-i Elhan, Takrizat, Kudemadan Birkaç Şair which is considered as literature textbooks. Once the convenient data collecting tools are searched; there are samples such as interdisciplinary studies, student dependent, conduct of life, from easy to difficult, discovery learning strategy, inductive method, sampling (typification), question and answer teaching method, detected about current education system's strategies, methods and technics. It has been concluded that Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem and his relevant books should be added to literature education and especially literature textbook anthologies.Key Words: methods and technics of teaching, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem, strategies of teaching, teaching of literature.

Hatta babası, Recaziade Mahmut Ekrem'in askeri lisede okuyamayacak duygusallığa sahip olduğunu fark ettiğinde, onu kendi eliyle devletin çeşitli kalemlerine sokar ve Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem oralarda uzun yıllar çalışır. Bunlardan Ta'lim-i Edebiyat, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'in Mekteb-i Mülkiye'de öğretmenliği sırasında yazdığı edebiyat ders kitabıdır. Rezacizade Mahmut Ekrem, Takdir-i Elhan'ı, öğrencisi Menemenlizade Mehmet Tahir'in Elhan adlı şiir kitabına yazdığı edebi eleştiriden yola çıkarak yazmıştır. Menemenlizade Mehmet Tahir, Elhan şiir kitabını, basılmadan önce öğretmeni Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'e gönderip kitabı ile ilgili görüşlerini belirtmesini istemiştir. İlk başta Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem, sadece Elhan adlı şiir kitabına poetika yazmak istemiş fakat yazıları yine Türk ve dünya edebiyatı üzerine bir eleştiri halini alınca kitap şeklinde basılması uygun görmüştür.Takrizat adlı eseri ise; Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'e gönderilen, o dönemin genç şair ve yazarlarının eserlerine yaptğı edebi eleştiri mektuplarından oluşmuştur. Kudemadan Birkaç Şair adlı kitap ise yine Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'in öğretmenliği sırasında fazladan, meraklısına hazırladığı edebiyat ders notlarıdır. Hatta bu kitabı Ta'lim-i Edebiyat adlı kitaba yardımcı kaynak olması amacıyla kaleme almıştır. Araştırmanın evreni, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'in sanat hayatı, eğitici kimliği ve çeşitli türlerde yazılmış yirmi altı adet kitabıdır. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'in Ta'lim-i Edebiyat, Takdir-i Elhan, Takrizat, Kudemadan Birkaç Şair edebiyat ders kitabı niteliğindeki eserleridir. Uygun veri toplama araçları tarandığında; diğer disiplinlerle ilişki kurma, hedef kitleye görelik, hayatilik, yakından uzağa, kolaydan zora, buluş yolu ile öğrenme stratejisi, tümevarım, örneklendirme (tanık gösterme), soru-cevap şeklindeki günümüz eğitim sisteminin eğitim ilke, strateji, yöntem ve tekniklerine dair örnekler tespit edilmiştir. Bu tespitlerden yola çıkarak edebiyat eğitimi ve özellikle edebiyat ders kitabı antolojilerinde Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem'e ve ilgili eserlerine yer verilmesi gerektiği sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: edebiyat öğretimi, öğretim stratejileri, öğretim yöntemleri, öğretim teknikleri, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem.
