Özet

Subject of this study, as expressed in the title of the social origins of postmodern novel in terms of sociology of literature is. Study challenges sociology of literature as a discipline and aims to demonstrate the social origins of postmodern novel with Bakhtinian perspective. In this study postmodern novel is approached in a historical and social context and specific characretistics and this study seeks to show that this novel type can not be resolved with current approaches in the sociology of literature. Postmodern novel, novel approaches to classical and realistic in contrast with the formal aesthetics and content-based sociological analysis is considered to be insufficent for the postmodern novel. Based on this, the formal aesthetics of postmodern novel, Bakhtinian approach can be assessed and as a result, Bakhtin?s theory of the novel and Medvedev's, who is a significant member of the Bakhtin circle, sociological poetics are said to be a different method of sociological analysis. Keywords:Sociology of Literature; Postmodernism; Novel; Postmodern Novel; Mikhail Bakhtin.
